Scrap it

Why on earth have you decided to waste valuable money and resources on this tapestry. Where most people are against the idea. The council seem to spend our money against our will anyway. This tapestry has been at various locations over the country and has been free entry... so what makes you think people are going to pay for the pleasure of visiting it in galashiels?

Why the contribution is important

Because it's the pinion of many other borderers.

Do you honestly beleve that fifty thousand people will visit this exibition EVERY year for the next
25 years and pay £10 plus for the privilage.
You may get 50K visitors the first year or two but who is going to pay the revenue to run the building and staff when the visitor numbers fall to a few thousand a year.

The vast majority of Borderers do not support this project. It does not represent good value for money and in no way will achieve the level of tourists to make the project viable. This project will inevitably run over budget due to the ongoing delays. Servicing this debt for the next 30 years will cost c£10 million. For this money you can build a new primary school, there are plenty schools in desperate need of investment. It's not right for children and teachers to undertake their education in portacabins in 2018.
